Over the past several years there has been a revolution in whitewater kayak design. Boats are generally shorter and more "playful" than earlier designs. Outfitting has been improved, and a comfortable, custom fit can usually be achieved in minutes. Most designs have a flatter, planing-hull style bottom, which not only improves overall performance, but also increases primary stability.
